ConnectionHints.com

Designed by puzzle lovers, for puzzle lovers

Our mission is to keep the daily Connections challenge joyful, spoiler-free, and accessible to solvers of every skill level.

Our story

ConnectionHints.com launched in 2024 when a small team of crossword devotees noticed an opportunity: many solvers wanted a nudge without ruining the fun. We built a companion that blends considerate AI guidance with human editorial review, so hints feel like a friend whispering encouragement—not a cheat sheet.

As the NYT Connections community grew, so did our commitment to responsible tooling. Today we serve thousands of daily players while staying independent and respectful of The New York Times intellectual property.

How we craft hints

  • Daily data refresh ensures we mirror the current official puzzle words and categories.
  • Progressive hint levels nudge you from gentle context to confident guesses—without handing over the full answer.
  • Each prompt is tuned for tone, accuracy, and neutrality, then checked against editorial safeguards before publishing.
  • Ethical fallbacks guarantee the app stays helpful even if external AI providers hit capacity or latency spikes.

People-first principles

We follow Google’s helpful content guidelines for every page on this site. That means no thin copy, no keyword stuffing, and no deceptive experiences. Instead, we aim for authentic value:

  • Hints that stay humble—your deduction skills remain the hero.
  • Inclusive design choices with keyboard, screen reader, and reduced-motion support.
  • Transparent data practices outlined in a clear privacy policy.
  • Fast, mobile-first performance so you can check in between guesses wherever you are.

If you ever spot something that falls short, please reach out via the contact page. We review every note and iterate quickly.
